Safety/Precautions
Essential oils and synergistic blends are FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Call
the Poison
Control Center if ingested. Do not use them directly on the skin. Always
dilute in a carrier oil or unscented lotion before using topically.
Test on a small patch of skin first. Keep oils tightly closed and away
from children. Essential oils are not to be used without seeking medical advice if pregnant,
epileptic, or if you have high or low blood pressure. Always keep away from
the eyes.
Should oil get into the eyes, wash thoroughly with water for 15 minutes.
We never
recommend internal use of essential oils. Essential oils are highly
concentrated and can be potentially toxic if taken internally.
Also, ingesting oils is very dangerous because some of the oils are skin and
mucous membrane irritants. Our oils are therapeutic grade and research
indicates that because of the concentrated nature of pure oils, they are much
more effective through inhalation using a room diffuser or topical
absorption using a 1%-3% dilution.
Storage
To preserve your oils, store in a cool
and dark location. Keep the bottles airtight. Shelf life can be from
one year to a couple of years, depending on the oil. A top note citrus oil like Lemon may lose its
essence quicker than a base note like Patchouli,
which only gets better with time.
